Claims and Returns
All manufacturing defects must be reported to Window Blinds Direct (WBD) within 30 days of receipt of blinds and shutters. We may require the return of blinds and shutters prior to repair or replacement.
Wear and Tear Guidelines
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or any damages or loss caused by accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or extraordinary use, exposure to salt air, insect damage, improper installation, commercial installation, exposure to hostile environments such as bathrooms, attics or garages, cleaning or maintenance. This Limited Warranty shall be void if the product is moved from the original place of installation. All fabrics and woods will gradually lose colour intensity after long exposure to the sun. This colour loss is not covered by the Limited Lifetime Warranty. All plastics tend to yellow and crack if left in direct sunlight. All cords will eventually wear out, WBD considers these things to be normal wear and tear not covered by our Warranty. Our Warranty does not cover removal, installation, or travel.
WBD is pleased to offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all of our custom window coverings. WBD warrants that our custom window coverings will be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, the purchaser has proof of purchase, and the purchaser resides at the location for which the product was purchased – provided that: (i) such product was properly installed, and (ii) such product was made or assembled exclusively from WBD material and components.
The natural beauty of wood often includes dark pigments and strong grain patterns which appear randomly throughout Blinds and Shutters. Slight variations in colour as well as minimal warping are considered acceptable and dye lots cannot be guaranteed.
The obligation of WBD and its distributors is limited to repair or replacement of the shades, blinds or components found to be defective, and excludes labor costs for measuring and installation. Repairs will be made with like or similar parts. This Limited Lifetime Warranty shall be void if the product is moved from the original location of installation. This warranty does not cover any damages resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, improper installation, motorized devices, acts of god (such as fires, floods, tornadoes, etc.), environmental damage (such as insect damage, exposure to sun, exposure to salt air, exposure to excessive humidity, etc.), or failure to follow instructions on cleaning, care or maintenance. This warranty does not apply to conditions resulting from normal wear and tear (see wear and tear guidelines).Commercial use of all products is also excluded from this warranty.
THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS, LIABILITIES OR WARRANTIES. In no event shall WBD or its distributors be liable for incidental or consequential damages, or for any expense associated with such damages. Repair or replacement of defective products is the sole remedy under this warranty and in no event WBD be liable for costs to remove or reinstall the product.
